Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi isn't entirely happy at Stamford Bridge, according to journalist Paul Brown.

What's the latest transfer news involving Callum Hudson-Odoi?

Hudson-Odoi was linked with a loan move to Borussia Dortmund during the latter stages of the summer transfer window, while Leicester City reportedly sounded out the Blues over a permanent deal for the youngster.

Neither move came to fruition however and Thomas Tuchel recently revealed that it was a simple decision for him to turn down any approaches for the 20-year-old.

As quoted by talkSPORT, he told the PA news agency: "It was a very easy decision for me, we cannot let the player go who is in an 18, 19-man squad. Simply impossible.

"He is able to play as a right wing-back, left wing-back, he can play in these extra positions, he knows the group and we know him very well.

“For him personally it would maybe have been a very good opportunity but for us it was simply impossible."

What has Paul Brown said about Hudson-Odoi?

Journalist Brown has claimed Hudson-Odoi's representatives were most likely considering options to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, while suggesting the 20-year-old isn't completely content with life in west London at the moment.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: "I do think Hudson-Odoi's people probably tested the waters a little bit this summer to see whether there was a move available for him.

"The fact that he can play in more than one position means that Tuchel didn't really want to let that happen. But I think he's not entirely happy that he's not getting as many minutes as he'd hoped for, and he's in a hurry to get them."

Does Hudson-Odoi deserve more minutes?

Hudson-Odoi is going to have to be patient here.

The fact of the matter is that he's a junior member of perhaps the most well-stocked squad in Europe.

In the supporting attacking roles, Tuchel has Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner to choose from, as well as the England international.

Meanwhile, at wing-back, Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James can both operate on the right, while Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell play on the left.

All of the above are more experienced players than Hudson-Odoi, who has only ever made 46 starts at senior level.

With Chelsea looking to defend the European crown and launch a serious title challenge in the Premier League this season, it's only natural that Tuchel will favour his more established personnel.

Nonetheless, Hudson-Odoi should take pride in the fact the Chelsea boss wanted to keep him in the first-team squad considering the amount of players the Blues send out on loan every summer.

Not due to turn 21 until November, there's still plenty of time for Hudson-Odoi to kickstart his career at the top level.
