Daily Star journalist Paul Brown reckons there's every chance Kurt Zouma could come into the West Ham side for their clash with Manchester United this weekend.

What did Brown say?

Despite the Hammers' strong start to the Premier League season and the fact they kept their first clean sheet at Southampton last weekend, he believes that the Frenchman could make his league debut on Sunday.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Moyes is renowned as someone who brings people in slowly, especially from the lower leagues and other countries, but in Zouma's case, he knows the league, he's used to the environment, so it wouldn't be a big shock to see him starting their next game."

How have West Ham performed defensively this season?

Whilst only two sides have scored more than West Ham's 10, their defensive record has been less than impressive.

David Moyes' men have shipped five goals in four matches, which means they have the leakiest defence in the top eight and have even conceded more than 13th-place Wolves.

Moyes' centre-back pairing this season has been Angelo Ogbonna, who's been arguably their best defender in recent years, alongside Craig Dawson, with Issa Diop in reserve.

But they were at sixes and sevens against Newcastle on the opening day, and whilst they hardly gave Leicester a sniff in the 4-1 victory, the Hammers allowed Crystal Palace to create far too many chances and paid the price in their 2-2 draw before the international break.

Ironically, they managed to keep their only clean sheet in perhaps their poorest performance of the season at Southampton, although they were fortunate for the post and then Declan Rice's last-gasp clearance off the line that it remained goalless.

Should Zouma come into the side?

It would be slightly harsh to change the back four following a shut-out, but coming up against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho, West Ham need to be at their very best to take anything from the game – and that means with Zouma in the side.

He hasn't played in the Premier League this season but was handed his Hammers debut in the Europa League on Thursday and recently played 90 minutes twice for France, so Moyes should have few concerns over his match sharpness.
