God of War Ragnarok: What is the release date?

Santa Monica Studio is bringing back the hugely popular God of War series through the eyes of Kratos.

God of War: Ragnarok will be the next chapter in what has been a hugely successful gaming franchise to date.

Over the years, some of the games have received huge amounts of praise, particularly the first release back in 2005 which received a phenomenal score of 94 from Metacritic - one of the highest-rated games at the time of writing.

Santa Monica Studios, the game's developers, have written a storyline for Ragnarok that covers a chain of events that unveils how the Norse Gods perished and continues from the deaths of Aesir and Baldur who fell on Kratos' axe - set in ancient Norway.

Gamers across the world watched in awe as it was showcased during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, with the appearance of Thor being a particular highlight from the footage.

With this fresh in the memory, fans of the franchise will be eager to find out when they can get their hands on God of War Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok Release Date

At the time of writing, it has not yet been confirmed regarding the precise date when God of War Ragnarok will be launched - but we could have spotted a possible pattern from previous releases which could indicate when we might be able to expect Santa Monica's new game.

From what we've seen, God of War games have been released around March-May each time, which could mean that we will see Ragnorak launched by May 2022.

Of course, this is our guess for now and has no foundations to it. But from the information that we have so far, we could be seeing Ragnarok sooner rather than later.

Nevertheless, we will update this article as soon as more information emerges in due course. Stay tuned!
