Dillian Whyte vs Otto Wallin: What date is the fight?

Dillian Whyte and Otto Wallin

Many boxing fans were surprised when Dillian Whyte vs Otto Wallin was announced this week, and the date of this bout has also been confirmed.

Wallin is a good opponent for Dillian Whyte, and he nearly shocked the boxing world in his fight against Fury in 2019 when he was close to picking up the victory. This is the Swede’s only lose in his career

Dillian Whyte’s last fight saw him brutally knockout Alexander Povetkin in round four to exact revenge in Gibraltar. He was astonishingly KOd by the Russian last August, but then activated his contractual clause to force a rematch and delivered some deadly blows in his victory.

This fight is the WBC interim heavyweight defence fight, so whoever wins can progress in their boxing careers massively.

What date is the Dillian Whyte vs Otto Wallin fight?

Despite the fight only being announced this week, the date for the bout has already been revealed.

The two will be meeting in the ring on Saturday 30th October 2021 and British boxer Whyte will have the advantage as they will be fighting at the o2 in London. Therefore the atmosphere at the o2 Arena should be amazing and this could help Whyte seal the victory.

Wallin should be used to huge fights being hosted away from his home country, so this should not phase him, but he will need to be at his best if he wants to come away with the victory.

With just over a month to go until the fight, there will no doubt be a lot of promotion and build up to this fight over the next few weeks, including press conferences, training footage and the weigh in.

The amount of fights featured on the Whyte vs Wallin undercard is currently unknown, but it is expected that the undercard will be announced in the coming weeks.

No doubt many will be wanting to go watch these two square up, and they will be excited to hear that tickets for the fight will be released on Monday 20th September 2021. This is another fight organised by huge promoter Eddie Hearn, and he will be very excited that he has set up this mouth-watering event.
