Journalist Paul Brown has claimed that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel may struggle to keep all of his attacking players happy this season.

How have Chelsea started this season?

The Blues have had an almost perfect start to the season, picking up 10 points from their opening four league games while conceding just once in the process.

Furthermore, they earned their first piece of silverware this term by winning the UEFA Super Cup last month, and got their Champions League defence underway on Tuesday when they saw off Russian side Zenit 1-0.

Everything appears to be rosy at the club right now.

What did Brown say about Chelsea?

However, Brown has spotted a potential issue that Tuchel could be faced with over the coming months. He believes that some forwards in the Chelsea squad may struggle for game time this year, particularly with new signing Romelu Lukaku now established as the side's first-choice striker.

Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “It may not be a weakness as such, but the fact that they’ve just got too many players to fit in every week might be a problem. They already had quite a lot of forward players to squeeze into that team, and bringing Lukaku in has completely changed the whole complexion.

“You’d assume, and from the way they’ve started the season, it looks like Mount and Havertz will the two kind of No. 10s playing either side of him. And everyone else has just got to try and compete for those roles.”

Which players may miss out regularly following Lukaku's arrival?

It seems that Timo Werner may be the main casualty at Chelsea this season due to the club signing Lukaku.

The 25-year-old was a regular in the first-team last term, making 29 top-flight starts, and he led the line for the side in their opening game of the season this year against Crystal Palace.

Lukaku arrived shortly afterwards, though, and Werner has played just nine minutes of Premier League football since Tuchel's men took on the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic have both only started one league game apiece so far this season. Pulisic's absence has been largely due to illness and injury, but he may still fear that his opportunities could be limited this year given that Mason Mount and Kai Havertz have started the campaign strongly.

If Chelsea are going to challenge in four different competitions, Tuchel will need to keep his whole squad happy, and this means that he may have to be clever with the way that he rotates his players from week to week.
