Paul Brown reckons that Mikel Arteta might only have a few weeks to save his job at Arsenal.

How have Arsenal started this season?

Despite picking up their first points of the season by beating Norwich on Saturday, three points from a possible 12, considering they've played two newly-promoted sides, is a dreadful return.

Very few would have had Arsenal down for anything other than defeats to Arsenal and Manchester City, but the manner of their three losses was perhaps more concerning than the results themselves.

The most disappointing defeat, though, was at Brentford on the opening day when Arteta's men were unable to lay a glove on the west Londoners and were comfortably beaten in the Bees' first Premier League fixture.

Arsenal's next two league games are a difficult trip to Burnley this weekend before they host Spurs in the north London derby. Maximum points from those two would repair some of the damage, but anything less than six points and Arteta will surely be walking on thin ice.

What has Brown said about Arteta?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I think if anyone carries the can for them starting the season badly, it's ultimately going to be Arteta.

"But I think he's got a few weeks, unless things really turn, to try and change it."

Is Arteta likely to be sacked any time soon?

If Arsenal fail to beat Burnley, Tottenham, or Brighton, then Arteta might be facing the point of no return.

They've lowered their expectations in recent years following two consecutive eighth-place finishes, but will surely be looking to get back into the Europa League as a bare minimum this term.

They're already six points off the top-six, though, and if that gap increases before the next international break, then Arteta could soon be out of a job.
