Former WWE NXT Superstar Adam Cole made his in-ring debut for All Elite Wrestling earlier this week, but the former Undisputed Era leader would have praise for his former bosses at the WWE 'developmental' brand.

Cole would mention how his four years with WWE had made him a better pro wrestler today, mentioning specifically the tutelage of Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

Both Michaels and Triple H work backstage with the NXT brand, with Michaels playing a key role in the development of the NXT UK brand.

Speaking to TV Insider, Cole would praise both Triple H and Michaels for the wisdom and help they gave him during his time with NXT:

“I’ve been so open with how much of a relationship I formed with Shawn Michaels. He is an idol of mine. A guy I look at as the greatest professional wrestler of all-time. To have the chance to work under him was really cool. Triple H, as well, treated me with nothing but respect and is someone I learned so much from, whether it be things that may seem small but are a big deal in the ring or a work ethic. I feel like the pro wrestler I am today is a lot better than Adam Cole was four years ago. A lot of that is because of my time in NXT.”

Cole is set to appear next Friday on AEW Rampage, teaming with The Young Bucks to take on Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy.

In the second episode of the revamped Turnbuckle Talk podcast, Louis Dangoor and special guest Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful talk about the biggest news in professional wrestling, including Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole's AEW debuts, the health of Triple H, Kevin Owens potentially leaving WWE and more.
