The Genshin Impact 2.2 patch is set to come out shortly, and the first leaks for the new update have already started appearing online.
Patch 2.1 dropped on Tuesday, August 31st, but fans of the game are already looking ahead to the new update that is expected in mid-October.
The new Patch, according to leaks, will apparently have new characters being introduced to the game, as well as the final few islands of Inazuma coming to the game before a new region is revealed in Genshin.
Thoma has already been confirmed for Patch 2.2, with the character appearing on the game’s beta during the testing period for players.
Players are also anticipating that Yae Miko and Kamisato Ayato (Ayaka’s brother) to be dropping as part of the new Patch 2.2 update.
Thoma, Yae Miko and Kamisato Ayato
Originally, dataminers had found information that alluded to Chief Priest Yae Miko getting released as part of 2.2. However, the references have now been removed from the coding.
It is not confirmed if this means that Miko may be pushed back to 2.3 or even further beyond that at this time, or whether the character will be coming as part of Patch 2.2.
Ayato is expected to be released as a Hydro-Claymore user, with the potential to swap, so that he can wield a sword with his Elemental Skill.
There is still a decent amount of time for these leaks and the coding in the game to be changed, so none of the leaks at this point should be considered definitive.
There should be more released confirming the new characters as the expected release date of Wednesday, October 13th draws closer.
As mentioned, 2.2 will also be seeing the release of the final few islands of Inazuma. Seirai and Watatsumi Island were launched as part of Genshin Impact Patch 2.1, leaving the final island, Tsurumi Island, to be released in 2.2.
The recent footage leaked on Reddit showed that the new island will be inhabited by ghosts and spirits.
