Who is Fallon Sherrock?

Sherrock made history in 2019, becoming the first ever women to win a match at the PDC World Championships after defeating Ted Evetts 3-2 in the opening round.

She went on to defeat Mensur Suljović 3-1 in the second round, but eventually lost 4-2 in the third round to Chris Dobey.

Her achievements saw her nicknamed "Queen of the Palace" after darts venue Alexandra Palace, and she received praise from tennis legend Billie Jean King and actress Sarah Jessica Parker.

Sherrock first started playing darts at county youth level aged 17, before going on to win the Girls World Masters and Jersey Open in 2012. She triumphed at the Women's British Classic in 2013.

The darts star has a son, Rory, who was born in 2014. After her pregnancy, Sherrock suffered from a kidney condition. She had treatment for the condition in 2017, causing her face to swell up.

Sherrock has discussed the online abuse she received during that period, telling BBC Sport: "Now if I see a silly comment, I literally just go past it. It's not going to make a positive difference to my life reading a nasty comment."
