Chelsea continued their fine start to the Premier League campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over London rivals Tottenham.

In truth, Thomas Tuchel’s side weren’t too impressive during a goalless first half.

However, they turned on the style after the break to move level with Liverpool and Manchester United at the top of the table.

Their opener came from an unlikely source.

Marcos Alonso’s out swinging corner was headed home by Thiago Silva in the 49th-minute.

And it’s fair to say their second goalscorer was unexpected, too.

N’Golo Kante came off the bench at halftime and it’s no coincidence the match changed upon his introduction.

While he was brilliant with his usual defensive masterclass, he also doubled his side’s lead with a rather fortunate goal.

From 25 yards out, Kante decided to take a pop.

It wasn’t likely to trouble Hugo Lloris but it took a wicked deflection off Eric Dier and span off the inside of Tottenham’s post and into the back of the net.

It was only Kante’s 10th Premier League goal for the club - and he didn’t quite know what to do.

The Frenchman allowed himself to be mobbed by his teammates, rather than celebrate the strike himself.

He then allowed himself a trademark grin - a grin that brings happiness to football fans around the world.

Kante is one of the most popular figures in world football and fans on social media just loved how he reacted to scoring such an important goal against one of his biggest rivals.

Chelsea wrapped up all three points deep into injury-time as a third unlikely goalscorer, Antonio Rudiger, made it 3-0.
