Wolves' approach to the recent transfer window made them seem "desperate", according to journalist Luke Hatfield.
How did Wolves' transfer window pan out?
Wolves made six signings in total this summer, but spent less than £25m bringing these players over to Molineux.
They were linked with a host of names on deadline day, including Renato Sanches, Sven Botman and Kieffer Moore, yet they did not manage to get any of these deals over the line.
Manager Bruno Lage recently hinted that he was disappointed with Wolves' business at the end of the window. As quoted by the Shropshire Star, he said: "We didn’t have the chance to bring in the top players."
What did Hatfield say about Wolves' transfer policy?
Hatfield feels that there was no clear plan in place for exactly who Wolves wanted to sign, and he understood why Lage spoke out about a lack of high-quality signings at the club.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “It didn’t surprise me when he was saying he needed two or three more, because I think Wolves do. It obviously doesn’t bode too well when deadline day comes around and you don’t bring anyone in, not through want of trying but it seemed very scattergun from Wolves.
“At the very top level, when you’re trying to make signings at such a late period, it does almost seem desperate, doesn’t it? And maybe they were trying to appease Lage.”

Will Wolves regret their transfer window approach this season?
Wolves did manage to keep hold of Adama Traore and Ruben Neves this summer, and they have started the season brightly, despite some results going against them.
Lage's men suffered successive 1-0 defeats to Leicester, Tottenham and Manchester United, but arguably could have won all three of those fixtures if they had been less wasteful in front of goal.
Right now, it appears that there is not too much to worry about, but that could all change with a couple of injuries in key areas. The team look short of options at the back, with Lage only having four centre-backs at his disposal to cover the three roles in his 3-4-3 system.
They may also regret not adding another central midfielder to their ranks, as there is now a lot of pressure on Neves and Joao Moutinho, who turned 35 last week, to stay fit, given that Wolves only have one senior player in Leander Dendoncker who can act as a back-up option for the Portuguese duo.
