A clip of her speaking to the China Global Television Network went viral recently, where the teenager professed to loving Chinese food. All of this has contributed to Raducanu’s influx of social media followers, but the Brit is being carefully managed by her team.

Indeed, the 18-year-old didn’t check her phone at all during the US Open and admitted on Good Morning America last week that she had still yet to respond to her congratulatory messages.

The Brit now has one of the biggest followings in tennis, but there is still some way to go until she catches Williams, who has 13.6 million Instagram followers of her own.

India’s Mirza, who is a six-time Grand Slam doubles champion, has 7.9 million, while Osaka and Bouchard have 2.8 and 2.1 million respectively.

This is still just the start for Raducanu though, and that follower count is likely to continue growing at a rapid rate.
