It has been confirmed that WWE Superstar MVP will be off of television "for a while" following successful surgery to his knee.

The former United States Champion had mentioned that he would need to get his "knee fixed" on social media some time ago, but apparently, the actual surgery was being put off until recently.

This news comes following the storyline injury that MVP suffered on Monday Night Raw this past week.

WWE confirmed that Montel Vontavious Porter was suffering broken ribs via an RKO from Randy Orton on Raw, so it appears that they're using that as the storyline reason for his absence.

Dave Meltzer confirmed that MVP underwent surgery last week on F4WOnline's Daily Update:

"MVP had knee surgery this week so he'll be out of action for a while."

There is no word on how long "for a while" actually means, as MVP was not wrestling much on WWE programming anyway.

The last time that MVP took part in a match was on the September 6th episode of Raw, where he teamed with Bobby Lashley to beat AJ Styles and Omos.

It is likely that he will be brought back onto television in his managerial role sooner than his knee is completely healed so that the ongoing storyline with Lashley can be continued.

There have been rumblings and rumours of The Hurt Business reforming to take on The New Day, and MVP would be a big part of that feud should WWE decide to go down that route.

In the second episode of the revamped Turnbuckle Talk podcast, Louis Dangoor and special guest Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful talk about the biggest news in professional wrestling, including Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole's AEW debuts, the health of Triple H, Kevin Owens potentially leaving WWE and more.
