We’re a number of weeks into the new European domestic season and it’s already shaping up to be an absolute cracker.

There are talking points everywhere you look around the continent's major leagues.

In the Premier League, it looks as though we could be set for an incredible title race with Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea all seemingly capable of winning the league this season.

In La Liga, Barcelona have begun the era without Lionel Messi as they and Real Madrid look to prevent Atletico Madrid from retaining their trophy.

In Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain have assembled something of a dream team, which includes a front-three of Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, and look set to romp to glory.

In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich entered a new era under Julian Nagelsmann and are looking to win their 10th consecutive league title.

While in Serie A, Juventus are currently in the relegation zone without Cristiano Ronaldo as they look to wrestle the league title from Inter Milan.

It may be early days but we’ve already seen signs of how the rest of the campaign will pan out.

But instead of us mere mortals predicting the final league tables, CIES Football Observatory has used data to work it out a bit more accurately.

They say: “The statistical model used for this purpose includes the players’ experience, transfer fee investments to assemble squads, as well as each team’s performance in the last 365 days.”

So, how will each of the five leagues finish?

Let’s take a look:

Premier League

Despite dropping points this weekend, Manchester City are predicted to win the title once again ahead of rivals Manchester United. Liverpool and Chelsea, rather unsurprisingly, make up the top four.

Tottenham are set for a return to the European League, while Everton and Leicester also also competing for European places. Meanwhile, Arsenal are down in ninth.

At the other end of the table, Norwich are Watford looks set for an immediate return to the Championship with Newcastle joining them.

La Liga

Real Madrid pip rivals Atleti to the title, with a Messi-less Barcelona in third and Sevilla in fourth.

Real Sociedad and Valencia make up the top six.

Getting relegated are Alaves, Cadiz and Elche.

Ligue 1

Shock, horror - Paris Saint-Germain win Ligue 1.

Marseille come second to Messi and co. while Lyon and Monaco make up the top five. Last season’s champions, Lille, finish fifth.

Troyes and Saint-Etienne are predicted to finish in the bottom two with Stade Brestois set for the relegation play-offs with an 18th-placed finish.

Bundesliga

Bayern make it 10 league titles in a row. But it’s not Dortmund who are their closes rivals as Wolfsburg are the runners-up. Dortmund do come next with Bayer Leverkusen finishing above RB Leipzig to come fourth.

Serie A

Juventus’ poor start to the season means they’re set to finish as low as sixth. Meanwhile, Inter Milan will retain their title ahead of Napoli in second. AC Milan and AS Roma make up the top four with Atalanta ahed of Juve.

The three teams down are predicted to be US Salernitana, Spezia Calcio and Venezia FC.
