Journalist Luke Hatfield reckons that Ollie Watkins needs to improve his finishing.
How has Watkins performed this season?
It’s been an unconvincing start to the campaign for the former Brentford man. After missing Villa’s first two games, he came off the bench and played the final 11 minutes against his former side before the international break.
Having proved his fitness, Watkins was handed his first start of the campaign at Stamford Bridge earlier this month alongside Danny Ings.
However, whilst Watkins was heavily involved against the league leaders, he fluffed several golden chances, which culminated in a 3-0 loss for Villa.
Watkins was far busier than his opposite number Romelu Lukaku, but the Belgian striker had two good chances and scored them both, something he was unable to do.
He ended having six shots in total but failed to put one away and after another frustrating afternoon against Everton on Saturday, is still searching for his first goal of the season.

Hatfield praised Watkins’ form but said he must be more clinical in front of goal.
What did Hatfield say?
He told GIVEMESPORT: “The big question mark is can he improve his finishing? A lot of people said that Ollie Watkins put in a really good performance against Chelsea, but he didn’t score.
“If he can find an extra bit of striking ability, he can go right into those top four or top six places because he is that good and offers something different to many other strikers.”
Is the criticism fair?
Watkins has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water since making the switch from Brentford last summer and has far more to his game than putting the ball in the net.
But if he wants to push towards the next level, which is establishing himself as a regular on the international stage, he needs to be more ruthless in front of goal.
Of the host of chances he squandered at Stamford Bridge, at least one of those should have been put away. And had that been the case, the scoreline could have been totally different.
