Injury boost for Cardiff

Cardiff could be over their injury nightmare by the time the npower Championship season resumes after the international break on Saturday.

The Bluebirds have been crippled by a long list of casualties over the last three weeks, with several key players ruled out of action through a variety of knocks.

However, striker Kenny Miller is set to feature for Scotland against Spain on Tuesday, while midfielders Craig Conway and Stephen McPhail should soon return from from ankle and groin problems respectively.

That news provides a major boost to manager Malky Mackay ahead of the weekend clash with Ipswich.

He told Cardiff City Player: "We could have everybody available by this weekend. If all goes well we should have a fully-fit group.

"There are one or two who are a day away, while others, of course, are still away with their national teams. By Thursday morning we will know exactly where we stand, but things are looking hopeful on the injury front."
