WWE: Keith Lee renamed Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee before Raw

Keith Lee was given a new name prior to last night's episode of WWE Raw

With reports suggesting that WWE is grooming him for a heel turn, it has now emerged that Keith Lee was given a new name during the Main Event taping before Monday Night Raw last night.

Keith Lee hasn’t been seen on WWE TV in a number of weeks, but the former NXT Champion has been wrestling at house shows and in dark matches.

Before one of those matches last night, Keith Lee was introduced as Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee, potentially spoiling that WWE is planning on giving the 36-year-old a new name when he returns to television.

As of right now, it remains unclear whether Keith Lee’s proper name is actually going Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee moving forwards, or if WWE will just have the ‘Bearcat’ part serve as a nickname.

The clip, which you can check out above, was shared by Twitter user @cashwellc ahead of last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

Reports have indicated that Keith Lee is being prepped by WWE higher-ups for a new role on the main roster, one that will see him transition into a heel.

This was coupled by various reports which indicated that should Adam Cole have re-signed with WWE and opted not to join AEW, he’d have become the mouthpiece for Keith Lee on SmackDown.

As of right now, there is no word on when Keith Lee, and his new name, are going to be returning o WWE television, with Lee’s last televised match on the August 2 episode of Monday Night Raw.

With the WWE Draft kicking off in just 10 days time, you have to think that WWE could be eyeing up one of those shows as a perfect opportunity to bring Keith Lee back to TV.
