Ahead of the WWE Live Event in London last night, Becky Lynch spoke to the media about a variety of topics, including the original plans for her return.Becky Lynch told Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT at the junket that the idea of a match with Bayley at WrestleMania 37 had been "thrown about" by WWE.She also said that while she was ready to appear at WrestleMania, WWE wanted her return in October, but those plans were brought forward when Sasha Banks was ruled out of SummerSlam.

I believe the original return date was going to be October

Bayley didn't end up having a match at WrestleMania, but reports a few days before the show stated that WWE was planning a Ding Dong Hello segment between Becky Lynch and Bayley on the show.

That didn't end up materialising, as WWE ended up having Bayley appear in various backstage segments across both nights, ending with her being attacked by The Bella Twins.

There is no word on why WWE didn't end up going with the Bayley vs. Becky Lynch match for WrestleMania, which would have undoubtedly been one of the biggest women's matches WWE could have put on for the show.

Becky Lynch returned to WWE at SummerSlam, replacing Sasha Banks in her scheduled match with Bianca Belair.

Becky Lynch ended up blindsiding Bianca Belair, beating the EST of WWE in a matter of seconds to capture the SmackDown Women's Championship.

Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch are slated to go one-on-one for the SmackDown Women's Championship once again, this time at Extreme Rules on September 26.

You can watch Becky Lynch on every single episode of Friday Night SmackDown live here in the UK on BT Sport.
