Tottenham trio Niko Kranjcar, Luka Modric and Vedran Corluka will have to rely on results elsewhere to ensure Croatia seal automatic qualification to Euro 2012.

All three featured for Croatia as they lost a key encounter with Greece on Friday, meaning Slaven Bilic's side must beat Latvia on Tuesday to avoid the playoffs.

Greece will also have to lose against Georgia for Croatia to win Group F, hence Ethniki remain favourites to qualify for next summer's tournament.

Elsewhere, Scott Parker played a full 90 minutes for England as the Three Lions ensured their progress to the finals with a 2-2 draw with Montenegro.

In the same group, Gareth Bale netted for Wales in a morale boosting 2-0 win over Switzerland for Gary Speed's side.

Younes Kaboul was required by Laurent Blanc for the entirety of France's 3-0 triumph over Albania in Paris as Les Bleus closed in on topping Group D.

In Group B, Russia need just a point against Andorra to finish first, and Roman Pavlyuchenko played 87 minutes against Slovakia in 1-0 win.

Finally, Holland maintained their 100 percent winning record, with their ninth triumph in as many outings coming against Moldova, in which Rafael van der Vaart played 78 minutes.
