With the release of Fracture on Valorant Episode 3 Act 2, some fans have been wondering if Riot will be introducing another map for Episode 3 Act 3.
Fracture has been pretty successful thus far in Episode 3 Act 2, with fans now getting the chance to play in Competitive mode with the H-shaped landscape.
That said, will Riot Games be introducing another new map for the new release of Episode 3 Act 3?
Riot has stated in the past that the lore and storytelling of Valorant is one of the main elements of the shooter that they want to push forward.
Fracture was introduced as a way to enhance the ‘Mirror-verse’ concept in the lore, and maps going forward are likely to further the development of the idea.
David Nottingham, Creative Director at Riot, noted how Fracture was designed to help players understand more of the lore behind the shooter. He said: “This map plays a KEY role in the linear timeline of the conflict taking place between our Earth and this mysterious ‘other earth’ that is sending their own VALORANT Agents.
“As such, we’ve invested in environmental and visual storytelling to help inquisitive players more fully unravel the mysterious conflict taking place.
“For narrative, we wanted to create a setting that would play a role in expanding players’ understanding of the conflict at play in VALORANT.
“After the Duality cinematic revealed to players the existence of a twin Earth, our aim was to give players a further peek into the conflict at stake between these two worlds.
“And in Fracture, we see that perhaps there are aspects of the conflict not as black and white as might initially appear.”
Will Valorant Episode 3 Act 3 have a new map?
With the release of Fracture on Episode 3 Act 2, it is highly unlikely that we will be seeing another new map introduced into the game as early as November 2021.
The next time that players can likely expect to see a new map added to the game is in the early part of 2022, with Episode 4 Act 1 expected to be released around that time.
