During his WWE Championship celebration on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw, Big E offered a touching tribute to the late Brodie Lee.

To open last night's WWE Raw show, New Day came down to the ring to celebrate Big E's big WWE Championship win over Bobby Lashley from last week's episode.

The segment saw Big E cut a promo on his journey to winning the WWE Championship, which included a touching tribute from the New Day star to Brodie Lee.

I am grateful for all of you below the heavens, and one incredible friend above.

While not explicitly stated, the line above is believed my many to have been a little nod from Big E to Brodie Lee, who tragically lost his life in December 2020.

Big E has publicly spoken about his close relationship with Brodie Lee (formerly Luke Harper), whose tragic passing last year took the wrestling world by storm.

Last week, while appearing on The Bump, Big E spoke about how he wishes Brodie Lee could have been there to celebrate with him after he won the WWE Championship:

“He was on my mind throughout. Of course, I love him dearly and I miss him. He was one of my best friends, such an incredible human being. I still stay connected with his wife and his kids. They actually FaceTimed me yesterday. He’s someone that means so much to everyone who knew and loved him. I just want to do my part to continue to keep shouting out my boy and keep his memory alive. Someone tweeted about Brodie, and my response was, you know, ‘I just wish he was there to hug backstage and to talk to’. I know how he was, man. He’d be one of the first to come up and congratulate me and pull me aside. I know he would have been happy for me.”
