Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is yet to decide whether to commit his long-term future to the club, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano.
What has Romano said about Tielemans?
Tielemans, who has 45 international caps for Belgium, is into the final two years of his contract at the King Power Stadium, and Romano has stated that the Foxes want to keep him at the club as they have offered him a new deal.
The 24-year-old has not made his mind up on signing the contract yet, though, as he appears to be considering whether he wants to stay at Leicester or if he fancies a new challenge elsewhere.
Speaking on The Here We Go Podcast, Romano said: “Tielemans still has to decide on his contract. He has a new contract proposal on the table since July from Leicester, but at the moment it’s not agreed, and he wants to wait a bit.”
Which clubs have been linked with Tielemans?
Fellow Premier League outfit Liverpool appeared to show the most interest in Tielemans in the recent transfer window, with it being reported that Jurgen Klopp wanted to bring him to Anfield.
However, it seems that the Reds may have been put off by Tielemans' price-tag, which was reportedly set at around €75m (£63.8m).

What is the most likely outcome of Tielemans' contract situation?
Tielemans has played a key role at Leicester over the last two-and-a-half years, helping the side challenge for a top four position. Furthermore, he will always be remembered as the player who scored the only goal of the game when Brendan Rodgers' side beat Chelsea at Wembley in May to hand Leicester their first ever FA Cup triumph.
Given that he recently won silverware and has come mightily close to securing Champions League football for the club in the last two seasons, there is no reason to believe that Tielemans is not happy at Leicester at the moment.
Still, the team have not quite managed to get into Europe's elite club competition, and it seems likely that Tielemans will want to play in the Champions League sooner rather than later.
With this in mind, he may well see how this season pans out before making his final decision regarding his contract. If Leicester can somehow break into the top four, he may feel that he is at the club that can match his ambitions, leading to him signing on the dotted line.
However, if Leicester fall short again, Tielemans could decide that the time is right for him to move on.
