Sergio Aguero isn't somebody that you'd usually associate with serious foul play, but his challenge on David Luiz during the final moments of Manchester City's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea in December 2016 sparked absolute chaos.
The two sides meet in Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime, with both sides no doubt intent on leaving Stamford Bridge with all three points. While the match is sure to be fiercely contested, things would have to get pretty insane for it to come anywhere close to the madness that unfolded at the Etihad Stadium nearly five years ago.
City were already doomed to defeat when Argentine international Aguero flew in on his Brazilian counterpart Luiz with a horrific two-footed lunge. Referee Anthony Taylor would eventually dismiss Aguero for the challenge, but not before a mass brawl broke out between the rival teams.
During a crazy few seconds, attention quickly switched from Aguero and Luiz to a spat between Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas and City midfielder Fernandinho.
Initially, it seemed that the Brazilian was approaching Fabregas in order to try and calm the situation down. His efforts didn't go down well, to say the least!

As Fernandinho tried to separate Fabregas from his City teammate Kelechi Iheanacho, he was met with a small slap from the Spaniard.
All bets were off at this point, as Fabregas and Fernandinho became involved in their own heated confrontation. The City man was incensed and began to shove Fabregas as the pair edged towards the side of the pitch.
This continued until Fernandinho actually pushed Fabregas over the advertising hoardings which separate the playing area from the stands. Cesc did his opponent no favours by making as much as he could out of the situation, tumbling theatrically as soon as contact was made.
Inevitably, Fernandinho quickly joined Aguero in receiving his marching orders following the altercation with Fabregas. You can check out the insane sequence of events below.
Upon review by the FA, Aguero received a four-match ban for his initial challenge on Luiz, while Fernandinho picked up a three-game suspension for his misconduct. Fabregas, however, got away absolutely scot-free for his part in proceedings.

Experienced Premier League official Michael Oliver is the man entrusted with overseeing this weekend's meeting between the two sides. Given the past history involving the pair, he could well have a busy afternoon on his hands.
