Bryan Danielson has finally been awarded a five-star rating for one of his matches, and all it took was for the former WWE star to step in the ring with Kenny Omega.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer awarded the Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny Omega match from this week's episode of Dynamite the illustrious five-star rating.

This is the first time that one of Bryan Danielson's matches has been awarded five stars, with all of Danielson's outings in WWE and those beforehand falling just short.

The match with Omega this week was Danielson's first with AEW, meaning he has become the first man to be awarded five stars for his debut match with the promotion.

What makes this even more impressive is that while Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson delivered a fantastic match on TV, it felt like they left a fair bit in the tank for another outing down the line.

The match on Wednesday went to a time limit draw, so it's pretty likely that Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson will go one-on-one a further time in the coming weeks and months.

Potentially with the AEW World Championship on the line, fans have been left rather excited about the quality of in-ring work that Omega and Danielson may produce in their next encounter.

Speaking of AEW news, it has been rumoured that former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt could be debuting on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite following his release in July.

The show is slated to take place in Rochester, which just so happens to be the hometown of Wyatt's close personal friend, the late Brodie Lee.
