It's almost time to enjoy the action of the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view.The event on Sunday promises to bring fireworks as it prepares to host two extremely hyped up women's title matches. Here's the story behind each feud so far and what you can expect on the PPV.

Charlotte Flair (c) vs Alexa Bliss: Raw Women's Championship title

Once again, Charlotte Flair will look to defend her title as she enters the ring to face Alexa Bliss on Sunday night.

A rivalry between the two has been building for some weeks now, after Bliss shifted her attention from sabotaging Eva Marie's Eva-lution to dethroning The Queen.

After defeating reigning Raw champion Nikki A.S.H and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match at SummerSlam, Flair appeared on the next Monday Night Raw to celebrate her champion status. But Bliss crashed the party and continued to play mind games with The Queen in the weeks after.

After Bliss challenged Flair to a title match, she gifted the red brand champion her very own Lilly-esque doll named Charly, which The Queen tore up in the most recent episode of Raw.

The two have brawled two weeks in a row now and tensions are bubbling ahead of Extreme Rules.

Their last meeting was in Alexa's Playground earlier this week, where the two engaged in a brutal back-and-forth match of smack talk before Flair kicked Bliss in the face and destroyed her Charly doll.

As fans are well aware, one thing Bliss hates more than anything is people messing with her dolls.

Becky Lynch (c) vs Bianca Belair: SmackDown Women's Championship title

The long-awaited return of Becky Lynch has not been what fans expected – The Man is back but has made a shock switch to turn heel.

Lynch interrupted the SummerSlam title match between Bianca Belair and Carmella, disposing of the latter before completely squashing The EST of WWE to reclaim her old title.

The Man has since wasted no time in warming to her new role as a heel.

She gatecrashed Belair's homecoming celebrations last week when the Mayor of Knox County awarded the Tennessee native with the key to the county.

The SmackDown champion brawled with Belair after the show went off air but it was The EST who pinned Lynch, much to the delight of her home crowd.

Belair has since posted a photo on social media of her holding Lynch aloft during her homecoming, along with the caption 'Don't try this at home'.

Meanwhile, The Man has indirectly responded with a celebratory tweet of her success.

"Had a baby. Came back. Won the title. Shocked the world. Came back to the UK. Sold out arenas. The main event. Stole the show," she wrote.

The two WWE championship fights are going to be unmissable, and you can watch them unfold on Extreme Rules this Sunday live in the US on Peacock, and in other international markets on the WWE Network.
