Journalist Luke Hatfield has suggested that West Brom have been sussed out under Valerien Ismael.

How have West Brom fared this season?

Despite the Baggies still unbeaten in their opening eight Championship games, their momentum from the early weeks of the season seems to have disappeared of late.

Ismael's team collected 13 points from a possible 15 in August, scoring an impressive 12 goals in the process. But since West Brom have returned to action following the international break, they appear to have lost their mojo, whilst the goals have almost dried up completely.

They might only be two points behind leaders Bournemouth and only goal difference below the top-two, but West Brom have drawn their last three games, all of which came against teams that are currently in the bottom-half.

Despite their unbeaten start to the season, Hatfield dropped a worrying claim that the Baggies might have been figured out, which is why they've endured a dip in form.

What did Hatfield say?

"They've been sussed out a little bit, I think. Valerien Ismael's football was exciting to begin with, his first four games were absolutely exhilarating watches, and teams have figured out that if you don't play the ball around the back, Albion can't press you.

"And that's when they were getting a lot of the joy, but now teams getting the ball forward quickly and it makes it hard for Albion to press the way that they would like to."

Have West Brom been figured out?

In terms of the three draws, it would be hard to overly criticise West Brom for their performance against Derby. Wayne Rooney's team put in a fine defensive display, had a goalkeeper in inspired form, and if that game was played 10 times over, the Baggies would win more than they don't.

The two concerning results for Ismael will surely be the pair of 1-1's against Preston and Millwall. West Brom created very little across those two games, registering just five shots on target in total and never really looked like taking maximum points from either.

Only time will tell whether West Brom need to freshen up their tactics, but they'll need to improve drastically to avoid extending this run of dropped points that's for sure.
