Former WWE Superstar and NXT Champion recently appeared on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette and discussed his former Mount Rushmore stablemate Kevin Owens.

There has been speculation that Owens would be leaving WWE early in 2022, with the former Universal Champion reportedly set to run out his contract.

Cole discussed the potential of Owens making his way over to All Elite Wrestling and join his Rushmore stablemates The Young Bucks.

Cole would say that he would love to see Owens join him in AEW, but he really just wants his friend to be happy:

“I mean this because I’m friends with Kevin. I want Kevin to do what makes him happiest. I really mean it, I mean it in my soul. However, of course I would love the idea of him joining me, and the Young Bucks, and everyone else here. That would be incredible. However, I do want Kevin to be happy. So there’s no part of me that would be angry or upset with whatever his decision is.”

There is currently no indication as to whether Owens will be staying with WWE; as noted his contract is reportedly set to run out in January 2022.

Sami Zayn is also expected to be making a decision regarding his WWE future in the next few months, with the former NXT Champion apparently having his contract up for renewal even before Owens.

Owens and Zayn are believed to have been offered new deals, but as of yet have not re-signed. This is however speculation as the official word on their statuses as WWE Superstars is not known publicly.
