The feud between Sonya Deville and Naomi intensified on WWE SmackDown last night.Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi has been trying to get a match since her return from injury nearly a month ago, but she has been constantly shot down by WWE official Deville.Tensions between Deville and Naomi heightened last night. A frustrated Naomi came out into the ring during the show and demanded a match against any female wrestler from the locker room.Deville emerged from backstage and refused the request. An infuriated Naomi then asked if she could fight Deville, who claimed her position as an WWE official left her unable to take to the ring.Deville could not resist taking aim at Naomi, however, telling the frustrated fighter: "Everyone knows I’d smack the GLOW right off your face…"The heated discussion only came to an end when Deville called in security to remove Naomi from the ring.With Deville rumoured to make an imminent in-ring return, fans are hoping a match-up between the feuding pair will soon become a reality.Deville last wrestled for WWE at SummerSlam last year. The former Tough Enough star lost to former best friend Mandy Rose in a 'Loser Leaves WWE' match.

After a lengthy hiatus due to personal reasons, Deville returned to WWE at the beginning of 2021, but has served as solely an authority figure alongside Adam Pearce.

Rumours of Deville’s return to fighting began in July, with Fightful Select reporting she was "expected to return to the ring soon."

Naomi was fined for insubordination last week after threatening Deville, having finally got tired of being refused a match.

"I don't know what your issue is with me, nor do I care, because I've been here longer than you, I've accomplished way more than you, so you're acting as though I don't deserve to be here is pretty bizarre," she told Deville.

"One way or another, I am going to get my match. Now do you feel that?"
