The Premier League's big six have all been following Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma's form closely ahead of the transfer window reopening in January, according to journalist Tom Barclay.

What's the latest news involving Bissouma?

Bissouma has increased speculation over where his future lies after admitting to Brighton's in-house media department, via Metro, that he has set his sights on competing in the Champions League and challenging for titles.

The 25-year-old clearly thinks he is capable of breaking into any top flight side due to his current form, with Bissouma claiming he is the best midfielder in the Premier League during an interview earlier this month.

It is not just Bissouma who rates himself highly either, as Liverpool lodged an official enquiry a matter of days before the summer transfer window slammed shut last month.

Brighton could be forced to contend with a three-way battle for the midfielder's services in January, with it being claimed that Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal are looking to do business.

Graham Potter's side are in a strong negotiating position should any of Bissouma's suitors firm up their interest as the Mali international still has just shy of two years remaining on his £25,000-per-week deal at the Amex Stadium.

What has Tom Barclay said about Bissouma?

Barclay has confirmed the Premier League's big six - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur - are keeping tabs on Bissouma.

Although the journalist rates one of the ex-Lille man's team-mates as a better player, he is not surprised to see Bissouma gaining so much interest.

Barclay told GMS: "They've all been watching him.

"I think Lewis Dunk is the best player at Brighton but that doesn't mean to say that Yves Bissouma is not absolutely top notch. He's brilliant."

Who else is a fan of Bissouma?

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, ahead of the Foxes' defeat to Brighton last weekend, praised Bissouma's physicality and defensive work for his south-coast employers.

Shortly before the end of last term, former England international striker Gary Lineker took to social media to label Bissouma as an "exceptional footballer".

Bissouma, who joined Brighton in a £15million move from French side Lille three years ago, is just nine games shy of chalking up 100 Premier League appearances.

Despite question marks over the midfielder's future, Bissouma has started all five of the Seagulls' top flight fixtures heading into tomorrow's encounter with arch-rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
