The opening 87 minutes of Man United and Aston Villa's clash on Saturday afternoon were dull.

But the game burst into life in the final few minutes as it was drama aplenty.

Kortney Hause gave his side the lead after he headed home from a corner.

But United were given a penalty in stoppage-time when Hause was penalised for a handball inside the box.

United fans have two of the world's best penalty takers: Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo.

It was the former who took the ball and placed it down on the spot.

He's usually so reliable from 12 yards, having scored 21 of his 22 spot-kicks in a United shirt.

But he failed to convert in front of an expecting Old Trafford crowd as he blazed his effort into row Z.

Everyone in the home end were gutted after seeing Fernandes' effort miss the target. Except one fan.

A Villa supporter managed to get a ticket in the home end.

They filmed their reaction to the penalty and they didn't suppress their feelings at all.

The amount of dirty looks must have been in the hundreds.

It takes some nerve to celebrate among thousands of angry United fans but that's exactly what they did.

It wouldn't have been surprising if a United supporter retaliated but, fortunately, that wasn't the case.

Fernandes meanwhile posted an emotional message on social media after the game.

“Nobody is more frustrated and disappointed than me for missing the penalty and the consequent defeat,” he wrote.

“I’ve always assumed my responsibilities and I've always embraced them under pressure in moments like this.

“Today, I failed. But I took a step forward and faced the challenge with the same ambition and responsibility as when, on the many other occasions, the ball ended up in the net.

“I once again took the responsibility given to me almost since I joined United and I will take it again without any fear or dread whenever called upon.

“I'm a player who leaves everything on the pitch, with great desire and commitment. And that’s what I'll continue to do."
