Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris ended up giving an effective joint interview to the gathered media after the Russian Grand Prix, as the British pair reflected on a dramatic finale to the race in Sochi.

Formula 1 can deliver the highest highs and the lowest lows and, sometimes, they can come at the same time where one driver profits and one driver does not.

Indeed, that was the case in the final few laps of the Russian Grand Prix, as the rain suddenly poured down and cost Lando Norris his first-ever F1 victory, with him sliding off of the circuit after opting to try and see out the race on slicks.

His loss, of course, was Hamilton's gain as the reigning champ sealed his 100th Grand Prix victory after bowing to his team's direction of coming in for intermediate tyres, though he admitted he initially wanted to stay out and chase down Norris on slicks himself.

Indeed, in the interview pen afterwards, the pair's separate TV interviews became one as Norris revealed he was under the impression the rain would be light and he could see it through, before Hamilton said he wanted to do the same before being told by Mercedes that the weather was going to deteriorate before it would get better.

A massive shame for Lando who, with the benefit of hindsight, would have surely come into the pits earlier than he did to try and save the race win.

His first-ever victory was there in front of him, though, and with the information he felt he was given he felt he could bring it home.

Not to be in the end for Norris, then, but he'll surely learn a great deal from those final few laps.
