What is it?

Indian Wells is a professional men’s and women’s competition that is classified as a WTA 1000 event on the women’s tour.

This makes it one of the premier tournaments on the women’s calendar outside of the four main Grand Slams, with 1000 ranking points on offer to the winner.

This will be the 32nd edition of the women’s event. Lindsay Davenport is the tournament’s most successful player, having reached the final on six occasions –– winning twice.
