Dimitri Payet was only at West Ham for one-and-a-half seasons but the Frenchman managed to make a huge impact during those 18 months.Signed from Marseille in June 2015 for a reported fee of £10.7 million, Payet scored 12 goals in 38 games during his debut campaign with the Hammers. He quickly established his status as one of the Premier League’s most entertaining midfielders. Some of the goals he scored were absolutely magnificent.A dead-ball specialist, Payet netted a handful of stunning free-kicks during his short spell in English football. The 35-yard free-kick away at Manchester United in the FA Cup was exceptional - but was his goal against Crystal Palace in the Premier League in April 2016 even better?p1fgjmm8m6li714jfc6j18ns1mc5f.jpg

Premier League's most underrated free-kick?

In terms of the best free-kicks in Premier League history, this one is surely right up there:

Situated just outside the box, Payet had a seven-man wall and Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to beat.

The France international was expected to whip the ball left, but somehow looped the ball into the top right-hand corner thanks to an outrageous moment of technical brilliance.

How he managed to get the ball to dip so suddenly remains a mystery.

This fantastic angle from behind the goal shows the height Payet got on the strike:

Hennessey stood absolutely no chance. It was up and over him before he could move.

The most underrated free-kick of the Premier League era? Quite possibly.
