Eddie Howe would be keen on being appointed as Newcastle United's manager if Steve Bruce is axed, according to Newcastle World journalist Liam Kennedy.

Howe has been out of work since leaving Bournemouth a matter of months after being unable to stave off relegation to the Championship last year.
Over the course of two spells in charge of the Cherries, which included 455 fixtures, Howe led Bournemouth from the bottom of the Football League to the Premier League thanks to achieving three promotions.
The 43-year-old was the clear frontrunner for the Celtic job earlier this year and, in May, it was reported that Howe was on the brink of being appointed as Neil Lennon's successor at Parkhead.
However, Celtic released a statement later that month confirming Howe would not be heading to Glasgow "for reasons outwith both his and Celtic’s control".
But, last week, bookmakers installed Howe as the new favourite to replace Bruce in the Newcastle dugout should the Magpies hierarchy opt to make a change.
What has Liam Kennedy said about Howe?
Kennedy believes Howe, whose managerial career has also included 86 matches at the Burnley helm, would be interested in taking charge at St James' Park.
The journalist also reckons taking on the Newcastle job would benefit the club and Howe.
Kennedy told GMS: "I think he would want the job. Eddie Howe has not managed a club of Newcastle United's size in his career.

"If he was offered the chance to manage Newcastle United, I think he'd be a mug not to go for it because he'd have a good set of players in a decent position in the division and knows some of them quite well.
"For somebody like Eddie Howe, looking to rebuild, I think that would be a pretty good project because he'd be stepping in at a level that he's never stepped in before."
Why is Bruce under pressure?
To be blunt, a large number of Newcastle fans have made it clear they do not want Bruce in charge.
Following widespread criticism from the Toon Army, Bruce revealed his family think he “is a bit sick” for refusing to walk away from the job.
Newcastle are still seeking their first win of the campaign and have not emerged victorious since overcoming Fulham on the final day of last season.
Goal difference is all that separates the Magpies from the relegation zone.
