Valorant Episode 3 Act 3: Developers Reveal More on New Agent 17

Riot Games have revealed more on Deadeye in Valorant

Fans have been anticipating the release of Agent 17 in Valorant, and now the game’s developers have officially confirmed a little bit more about the codename: Deadeye.

Riot Games noted several changes coming in the latest State of The Agents blog post for September 2021, including those for Agent 17.

Here is everything that Riot confirmed for the upcoming Agent release, which is expected as part of Valorant Episode 3 Act 3.

John Goscicki, Character Producer for Valorant at Riot, confirmed the following with regards to the release of the new Agent. He said: “It’s been a bit since our Robo Boyo KAY/O has been out neutralizing Radiants.

“While he’s been out there adding to our pool of flashes, we’ve been refining our upcoming Agent. We took a step back and thought about different ways to provide another Sentinel to the roster.

“A Sentinel that focuses on mechanical outplays, with an additional focus of gunplay into the mix for an extra flourish. We won’t reveal much more, just know that once you achieve that dream moment, it will be magnifique!”

Riot Games have revealed more on Deadeye in Valorant

Who is Agent 17?

The leaks for the new Agent over the past few months have indicated that the new Agent coming to the game will be called Deadeye.

Some of the bigger names in the Valorant data mining and leaker community have confirmed that Agents 17 and 18 are expected to be released in the coming updates.

Riot haven’t officially confirmed these themselves, and the message as part of State of The Agents is the most we have had officially thus far.

So at this point, we know that the new Agent will be a Sentinel, and with the phrase ‘magnifique’ they will likely have ties to France or be French themselves.

Deadeye Finally Coming

The release of Deadeye has been a long time coming, with data miners first finding the name for the new Agent in the game’s code back in June 2021.

Deadeye was first teased in Valorant’s One Year Anthem, where a brief glitch in the video pictured a character holding a sniper rifle, although this wasn’t considered an ‘official’ confirmation of the new Agent.

Fans and leakers believed this to be Deadeye, who bears a resemblance to the character Midas from Fortnite.
