Brek Shea looks set to make a move to Manchester United, Talksport claims, with the Red Devils edging out Liverpool and Manchester City in the race to sign the USA starlet.

Shea has been a star in the MLS since the season began, and multiple clubs around Europe have been sending scouts to watch the winger on a regular basis.

And while Liverpool and Manchester City were believed to be leading the charge to sign Shea, United are now said to be the front runners to bring the youngster on board.

USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann recently admitted that big-name managers have been asking about Shea, though he stopped short of mentioning United, Liverpool or City by name.

Schalke and numerous clubs in Spain are also said to be chasing Shea, but United are ready to trump them all, and are planning a swoop early in the January window that will steal the march on both their English rivals in Liverpool and City, and Champions League rivals such as Barcelona and Real Madrid.
