Ancelotti 'sad' after defeat vs Sheriff

"I'm a little sad as I think we deserved to win," Ancelotti told reporters, per the Evening Standard, after the upset.

"You could say we had bad luck, we lost the game on the small details, they scored their goals on the counter-attack and from a throw-in. We had a lot of shots at goal but sometimes luck deserts you in games.

"Everything went well for them, everything went wrong for us."

Spanish media ask Sheriff players if they're professionals

You can probably imagine how the result went down with the Spanish press.

El Chiringuito - notorious for their dramatic reactions after a big defeat - had a reporter follow Sheriff’s players to the airport to ask if they’re even professional footballers and not part-timers.

Defender Gustavo Dulanto, who played the full 90 minutes, was asked: “Do all the members of the squad only play football? Or do you also work in something else? You’re all professionals, right?”

Looking a little miffed, Dulanto replied: “Yes, we’re all professionals. Yes.”
