Christian Horner has said that the remaining circuits on the F1 calendar are set to be split 50/50 in terms of whether they favour Mercedes or his team Red Bull, in what should suggest we're set for a thrilling climax to this campaign.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are separated by just a couple of points in the Drivers' standings after the Russian Grand Prix and it certainly looks as though things are going to be going to the wire in their duel for the crown, as well as in the Constructors' championship between their two respective teams.

Horner and opposite number Toto Wolff will be rallying their troops ahead of the run in, then, and the former believes that there is every chance that the remaining circuits on the calendar will be split in terms of whether they favour his cars or those of the Silver Arrows.

Speaking following the weekend in Sochi, Horner said:

"There are no more circuits like Monza and Sochi where Mercedes has the upper hand now.

"They won in Turkey last year but we were both strong in Austin. And then we are always stronger at altitude in Mexico and Brazil.

"Qatar and Saudi Arabia we aren't sure about yet and then there's Abu Dhabi. So I'd say it's about 50-50 with the remaining tracks."

It's interesting Horner mentions such factors because, as we saw in France, form from previous seasons does not always translate into results this year.

However, it remains a pretty decent guide and it'll be fascinating to see just who has the upper hand each weekend, with momentum set to swing to and fro in the final months.

As a sidenote, Horner appears to have inadvertedly confirmed we're heading to Qatar later this year, too, with F1 set to make its debut at the Losail circuit, often seen in MotoGP, to ensure we get a 22-race calendar this campaign.
