Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic flew with the squad to Romania ahead of tomorrow night's clash against Otelul Galati.
The Red Devils flew out on Monday morning without England international centre back Rio Ferdinand though, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson taking the opportunity to rest his former captain.
"Rio played very very well on Saturday against Liverpool but we have Vidic with us here and I felt it was a good opportunity to give Rio a break," said Ferguson in his pre-match press conference.
"Playing three games in seven days is a lot to ask. We felt it was the right moment to give him a rest."
Vidic is in-line to play for United for the first time since the opening day of the season, when a calf strain forced the Serbian off against West Brom.
He has played internationally though, missing a penalty in a 1-0 defeat to Slovenia last week as Serbia crashed out of Euro 2012 qualifying.
Dimitar Berbatov is named in the 23-man provisional squad after missing out in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield, although Rafael and Tom Cleverley remain long-term absentees at Old Trafford.
Ben Amos travels ahead of keeper Tomasz Kuszczak, whilst striker Mame Biram Diouf is rewarded for his fine form with the reserves, one of six strikers in the party as Federico Macheda stays home.
