When I started this journey to getting strong back in 2017... 315lb deadlift was my goal!!!!"Today I exceeded expectations not only of myself but so many other people out there !!!!! I hope I made you guys proud! I hope I did y’all well! I hope you know YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!"

The clip certainly seems to have inspired a number of social media users, who branded the lift "amazing" and "awesome".

One Twitter post read: "What a massive achievement. I couldn't get to 300Ibs in 2 years. Amazing athlete. So happy for her."

Walcott, who is in the super heavyweight division, only competed at her first sanctioned event aged 34. She featured at the USA Powerlifting Rumble on Pratt Street in July 2018.

Of the six competitions she has appeared at, Walcott has only lost once, placing 19th at the USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals in 2019.

Despite achieving one of the best deadlifts in the world, Walcott looked like she still had plenty left in the tank. She could well shatter her own record in the months to come.
