Tyson Fury has comically stated how he thinks Deontay Wilder can beat him in their upcoming fight on October 9.

Speaking to TR Boxing, Fury jested that Wilder should do the obvious and ‘try to land more punches on his face’.

Having drawn and won both of their previous fights, the two-time heavyweight champion seemed in good spirits ahead of the fight and spoke candidly of how heavyweight boxers should prepare for fights.

He said: “I think he [Wilder] could try and land more punches on my face, and that will help his chances of winning.”

Fury, who was knocked down in the opening meeting between the two boxers, controversially went on to draw their first fight and subsequently won their second bout with the referee calling the fight off in the seventh round.

During that fight, BoxStat reports that Deontay Wilder landed only 54 punches on his opponent while Fury landed 135, and the British fighter believes: “There’s no rocket science to boxing.

“Although a lot of fighters today try and make it quite technical and all this downloading data bull**** - I’ve never heard such bollocks in my life.

“It’s two men fighting, punching each other in the face and body for 12 rounds or less.

“There’s no rocket science to it, you’ve got to train hard, get to bed early, eat right, drink plenty of water and get stuck in.

The pair will go toe-to-toe for the third time next month after an arbitration hearing forced Tyson Fury to fulfil his fighting commitments with Wilder instead of seeking a fight with Anthony Joshua.
