It was reported this week that Alexa Bliss would be off WWE TV for "several months", and we seemingly now know the reason why.

PWInsider is now reporting that Bliss is set to undergo sinus surgery, which is why she has been written off WWE television.

The report doesn't go into detail about how long Alexa Bliss is going to be off WWE TV for, so stay tuned to GiveMeSport for any potential updates on that front.

Alexa Bliss was written off TV as of the Extreme Rules PPV as she is scheduled for an upcoming sinus surgery. PWInsider.com has not confirmed how long she will be out as of this writing.

Alexa Bliss challenged Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules on Sunday night, ultimately failing to wrestle the Raw Women's Championship away from 'The Queen'.

The post-match angle saw Charlotte Flair destroy Bliss' doll, Lilly. This will presumably set up another match between the two when Bliss is fit and able to return to the ring.

With Bliss now out of the picture, it's been rumoured that Charlotte Flair will be feuding with Shayna Baszler, who has been booked pretty strong on WWE Raw over the last few weeks.

Alexa Bliss isn't the only member of the WWE Raw roster out after undergoing surgery right now, with Sheamus having an operation on his nose this week.

PWInsider notes that while Sheamus will likely miss this week's WWE Draft, the former WWE Champion will not be out of action for much longer than "a few weeks".

Again, there is no word on when Alexa Bliss is slated to be back on TV from PWInsider, but initial reports from other sources indicated that Bliss would be missing for "several months".
