A fierce competitor on the pitch for more than 25 years, the thrill of victory still seems as important as ever to legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

The 43-year-old - capped 176 times by his country - rejoined Parma from Juventus over the summer on a free transfer. Buffon has quickly settled back into life at the Serie B club, having kept two clean sheets in his six appearances so far this season as the team's first-choice shot-stopper.

Buffon first left the club 16 years ago to move to Turin. During his time with Juve, he carved out a legacy as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.

For his Parma teammates, the presence in the fold of a man who has 10 Serie A titles as well as a World Cup victory to his name presents an outstanding learning opportunity.

As keen as Buffon likely is to pass on his experience to the next generation, his personal hunger to win shows no signs of fading.

This has been proven by recent viral footage taken from the Parma dressing room, in which Buffon challenges his colleagues to take him on in a game of rock, paper, scissors.

The veteran of more than 700 career club games manages to get the better of his first couple of opponents, smiling as he does so.

When he claims the scalps of his third and fourth challengers, though, Buffon simply can't hide his delight, celebrating with the rest of his teammates.

It doesn't end there, however, as he somehow wins a fifth-straight duel. By this point, both Buffon and the assembled squad become increasingly vocal about the incredible streak unfolding before them.

The clip, which you can check out below, concludes with Buffon landing a sixth-consecutive victory over one of his teammates - and he's absolutely loving life. The veteran commemorates his run of wins by wheeling away in a jubilant lap of the dressing room.

It might not be the World Cup final or the title-clinching moment of a Serie A season, but try telling that to Buffon's face. His infectious excitement is brilliant to see.
