We're just one week away from the highly-anticipated trilogy fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.The two heavyweights will meet for the third time on October 9 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.There was a point earlier in 2021 when it looked like we might at last see Fury versus Anthony Joshua in an all-British clash. But a contractual clause has brought about the third Fury-Wilder bout and, let's face it, we're all still going to tune in. From Fury's perspective, Wilder shouldn't have the opportunity to reclaim his WBC heavyweight title after the Gypsy King defeated him so comprehensively in their second fight, held in February 2020.“I’m very motivated, focused, and determined, and I can’t wait for October 9,” Fury said in a media call this week, per Fansided. “I wish it was this weekend.”

He outboxed the Bronze Bomber from start to finish last time out, winning via technical knockout in the seventh round.Wilder infamously came out with a bunch of excuses after the defeat - including the weight of the costume he wore on the way to the ring - but a clip of the American after the sixth round showed the awful state he was in.Bloodied and bruised, Wilder was barely able to lift his head as his trainer Jay Deas, who was against the decision to throw in the towel in the seventh, delivered instructions.
Wilder's co-trainer Mark Breland threw in the towel to end his fighter's misery in the seventh round.
But many boxing fans were stunned that Wilder was even allowed out for the seventh round, considering the state he was in after six rounds.
"They should have retired him in the corner," one fan wrote on Twitter. "They ran the risk of serious damage to him."
Another added: "Wilder's corner sucks. Led his boy out there in the 7th to get teed off on."
