Journalist Paul Brown has revealed that Chelsea have listened to offers for their defender Andreas Christensen.
How has Christensen performed so far this season?
Christensen struggled to establish himself under former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, making just five league appearances in the first half of last season.
However, he seems to have been given a new lease of life since Thomas Tuchel took charge, as he featured regularly in the final months of the 2020/21 campaign, helping the Blues win the Champions League in May.
The 50-cap international has picked up where he left off this season, starting five of Chelsea's six league fixtures, and the team have kept three clean sheets in these matches, leaving them just one point behind leaders Liverpool in the table.
What did Brown say about Christensen?
Despite his resurgence, Brown has claimed that Chelsea have listened to proposals from rival clubs for Christensen, although he is not convinced that the club have ever truly wanted to let the Danish defender go.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about Chelsea's stance on Christensen, Brown said: “They were certainly listening to teams when offers were coming in for him, but had never made the decision that he had to be sold. So, I think he has a future there if he wants one. We’ll see.”

Will Christensen stay at Chelsea?
The 6 foot 2 centre-back, who is valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, is into the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and, as things stand, Chelsea risk losing him for free in 2022.
As Brown hinted, whether he stays or not could ultimately come down to Christensen himself. Based on how regularly he plays him, it seems clear that Tuchel is very fond of Christensen, and has had no concerns with picking him to play alongside experienced professionals such as Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva at the heart of Chelsea's defence.
Christensen is still only 25, and is likely to have his peak years ahead of him, so it would make sense for Chelsea to do all they can to keep him at the club beyond next summer.
From Christensen's perspective, he is playing consistently in a team that is challenging for and winning major trophies, suggesting that there is no clear reason for him to want to leave.
Then again, he may simply fancy a change of scenery having been at Chelsea since 2012, and that could lead to him moving on from west London rather than signing a new deal at the club.
