Luis Suarez gave an emotional interview to Sport ahead of Atletico's game against Barcelona on Saturday evening.

Looking ahead to the match, the legendary striker vowed he would not celebrate should he find the back of the net against his former club.

"I hope to score on Saturday but I won't celebrate, I have great respect for Barcelona," he said.

Score he did.

Suarez was involved in Atletico's opener. He played a wonderfully weighted through ball to Thomas Lemar in the 23rd minute, who finished past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Suarez then doubled his side's lead just before half-time. He found himself one-on-one with Barca's number one and he finished with aplomb.

And Suarez stayed true to his word as he refused to celebrate. Watch the moment below:

Fair play to Suarez.

Barcelona treated him so badly but the club clearly still means a great deal to him.

With that goal, Suarez has now scored against all 31 teams he has ever played against in La Liga.

What a striker he has been and what a striker he still is. Barca must rue their decision every day to let him leave for one of their fierce rivals last year.

There were no further goals as Atletico cruised to all three points.

Atletico are now second in La Liga having accumulated 17 points from their opening eight games.

Barcelona are five points worse off in ninth, although they have a game in hand.
