Journalist Paul Brown has claimed star forward Richarlison is unlikely to remain at Everton for much longer.

What's the latest transfer news involving Richarlison?

It was reported by Goal towards the end of the summer transfer window that PSG had lined up Richarlison as a potential late signing.

The French giants reportedly identified the Toffees star as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who was strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid.

In the end, Mbappe never left Parc de Princes and Richarlison stayed at Goodison Park, with manager Rafa Benitez even publicly stating that Everton had no intention of cashing in on the South American.

Nonetheless, since the close of the summer transfer window, Richarlison has refused to rule out an eventual departure from Merseyside, keeping the subject of his long-term future in the news.

What has Paul Brown said about Richarlison's Everton future?

While Brown went some way short of suggesting Richarlison will be leaving the Toffees in the next transfer window, he did claim there is a general expectation at Goodison Park that the former Watford man will end up moving on sooner rather than later.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I think everyone at Everton knows Richarlison won’t be there very much longer. I don’t think anyone at Everton really believes that Richarlison is going to be there for the next four or five years.

"I think that’s pie-in-the-sky to expect that, he’s too ambitious and he’s one of the only assets they’ve got that may have to be sold. So I think at some point, he will be gone - whether it’s this summer coming or they keep him for another season, I don’t know. But I think at some point Everton will sell."

When could Richarlison leave Everton?

Despite the summer interest from PSG, we're still waiting for the Brazilian to enjoy a real coming-of-age season.

He's clearly highly-rated - in addition to PSG's interest, Barcelona have previously had an £85m bid for the forward rejected - but Richarlison has never scored more than 13 goals in a single Premier League campaign.

That's good going for a 24-year-old who usually plays as a supporting attacker rather than an out-and-out goalscorer.

Nonetheless, Richarlison is yet to produce a tally for goal involvements that suggests he's a truly elite player.

Once he does that across a whole season, it becomes in Everton's best interests to cash in while his stock is highest, and there will naturally be more interested parties.
