Pressure on Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman continues to mount following the club's 2-0 defeat to La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Barcelona dropped to ninth in the table following the disappointing defeat at the Wanda Metropolitano, with former striker Luis Suarez pouring salt in Koeman's wounds by scoring and celebrating with a phone call gesture that was seemingly a nod to the call from Koeman in which the coach informed the Uruguayan striker that he was no longer in his plans.

The decision to offload Suarez was just one of a number of errors that Koeman has made in little more than a year in charge of the Blaugrana.

He received public backing from president Joan Laporta ahead of Saturday's match - "He'll stay on and deserves a margin of confidence," Laporta said, per Sky Sports - but more weeks like the one Barcelona have endured will quickly see Laporta's opinion change.

Defeat to Atletico came three days after the 3-0 loss to Benfica in the Champions League.

Perhaps no coach would have been able to cope with the loss of Lionel Messi, but Koeman's spell has included some dismal moments that are laid bare in a startling Twitter thread of records that he has broken since his arrival.

Penned by user Leomessigoated1, the thread makes for grisly reading for Koeman. We've written out all of the records below.

1. Broke Barca's six-year unbeaten run at the Camp Nou in UCL

Prior to their 3-0 defeat to Juventus in December 2020, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring twice, Barcelona hadn't tasted defeat at their home stadium in the Champions League since a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich in 2013.

2. Granada had never beaten Barcelona at home until Koeman came

Granada secured a memorable 2-1 win at the Camp Nou in April 2021, their first triumph at Barcelona's ground.

3. Barcelona had never lost two consecutive UCL group stage matches until Koeman came

Barcelona's 3-0 defeats at the hands of Bayern Munich and Benfica actually mean it's three group stage losses in a row, counting last season's reverse in their final group game against Juventus.

4. Benfica hadn't beaten Barcelona since 1961 until Koeman came

The 3-0 win was Benfica's first against the Blaugrana since the 1961 European Cup final, when the Portuguese outfit ran out 3-2 winners in Bern.

5. Diego Simeone had never beaten Barca in La Liga until Koeman came

Barcelona had proven to be Simeone's bogey team in the league until Koeman's arrival.

He had gone 17 league games without defeating Barcelona until a 1-0 victory last season.

6. Atletico Madrid had never beaten Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano until Koeman came

Barcelona hadn't tasted defeat in Atletico's newest stadium in three games until that 1-0 reverse.

7. Barcelona have gone five UCL matches without a win for the first time since 1997

Barcelona lost to Juventus in their final group game last season before losing 4-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their round of 16 tie. That was followed up by a 1-1 draw that compelled them to a 5-2 aggregate defeat.

Throw in the defeats to Bayern Munich and Benfica and that's five Champions League games without a win. Incredible.

8. Barcelona had never dropped points to Eibar at Camp Nou until Koeman came

Barcelona's 1-1 draw to Eibar at home in 2020 was the first time they hadn't beaten them at home after six straight wins.
