Stoke v Maccabi Tel-Aviv
Europa League Group E;
Britannia Stadium;
October 20, 2011. Kick-off: 2005

Kenwyne Jones is likely to return to the staring line-up for Stoke after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The striker has been out of action for a month and was an unused substitute in the weekend win over Fulham.

Asmir Begovic will be replaced by Thomas Sorensen in goal, while Robert Huth will get a defensive recall.

Sorensen looking to take chance

Thomas Sorensen is satisfied as his role as Stoke's cup-specialist goalkeeper, and is intent on helping them progress further in the Europa League.

The Potters currently top Group E with four points from two games, while Thursday night's opponents Maccabi Tel-Aviv are one point behind in second place.

Sorensen, meanwhile, is having to get used to life as Tony Pulis' second place shot-stopper, after three years at the Britannia Stadium.

However, the 35-year-old Dane is happy to help whenever he can, and will take the place of Asmir Begovic for the visit of the Israeli outfit.

"The weird thing is that it feels like I am playing every week at the moment because we are having so many games," he told Potters Matchday Magazine.

"I'm more or less playing as many games as Asmir , so in that respect, it is great.

"It is important to have something to look forward to week in, week out, so I am happy that the manager has the faith to play me in all the cup games."

He added: "Indeed, I don't think it is realistic that one 'keeper could have played in all of the games we have had so far and it's a good time to be in that role.

"The past few months have been fantastic, but I know we can't count on that every year.

"To get to the FA Cup Final was incredible and now to be playing in the Europa League most weeks and in the last sixteen of the Carling Cup is very special too."
