Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix produced stunning highlights in 2-0 win vs Barcelona

Joao Felix’s highlights in Atletico's 2-0 win v Barcelona are so special that they’ve gone viral

Barcelona fans experienced yet more heartache on Saturday evening.

Cules had to watch on as their team were comprehensively outplayed by Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The La Liga champions defeated Barcelona by a scoreline of 2-0, with former Blaugrana star Luis Suarez one of the stars of the show.

'El Pistolero' assisted Thomas Lemar's opening goal, before rippling the back of the net himself just before half-time.

But while Suarez was the Atletico forward with the contributions to his name, Joao Felix was the architect behind the team's stellar attacking performance.

The Portuguese youngster has struggled for form over the past 12 months or so and he's often been condemned to a place on the bench as a result.

That's all in the past, though, with Felix now looking fully fit and subsequently back to his scintillating best on the pitch.

Barcelona just couldn't get near the hugely talented 21-year-old and the former Benfica man's individual highlights from the game are outrageously good.

Unsurprisingly, footage of them has gone viral on social media and you can enjoy the video in all of its glory below.

After the game against Barcelona, Felix spoke to the media and said: "The dressing room is celebrating at the moment. We knew Barcelona would leave space in between the midfield and defence and we were able to create chances. I feel good at the moment and I want to keep on improving."

If he can replicate his performance from Saturday on a consistent basis, Atletico are going to be a scary team to face this season.
